THE BOY WITH A BROKEN HEART - Book Review and Behind The Reading

Started Reading: 10 April'19
Finished Reading: 12 April'19

The sequel to the very amazing THE BOY WHO LOVED, has all my heart right now. For those who have read the prequel, THE BOY WITH A BROKEN HEART has certain new characters and the book is a narrative of Advaita more than Raghu, unlike the prequel. DURJOY DATTA has aptly inserted the message of communal harmony, slightly different from the prequel. The unmitigated love of Raghu for Advaita and Advaita's Best Friend love has a fantasizing impact on the readers. Raghu and Advaita are the kind of people we hardly see in the world now and the kind of people who can jump seven seas and cross all boundaries to make each other happy and content. The selfless love desribed here is what we actually need in the world right now.
Now coming to the plot of the novel - As for me, the plot is insanely mature and realistic (Quite unlike the other books by DD) and the characters indeed are real. The plot includes certain aspects of social awareness, also encompasses a prominent concept of homosexuality and the great deal of mess it takes to accept this fact. The story gushes about the determined will of a girl to find a way to her freedom from an ingrained patriarchal family. Durjoy Datta, being a millenial-friendly writer has certainly ruminated the plot of this Novel to make it as vivid as it could be, great work.
Wrap Up - As for me, I read the THE BOY WHO LOVED at the time when THE BOY WITH A BROKEN HEART was close to release. I legit cried at the climax of THE BOY WHO LOVED and was waiting anxiously for the THE BOY WITH A BROKEN HEART to be available online. It was open for sale in a short time but i got into a predicament regarding billing and payment and as a consequence, i couldn't buy it then. I had many more books waiting in line to be read and not less than soon my exams came and i  completely forgot about reading anything other than my textbooks. They smell amazing. It wasn't until my birthday that a friend gifted me THE BOY WITH A BROKEN HEART and i couldn't be happier (me, being a bibliophile). I am immensely delighted that the book didn't seem to disappoint me and was worth all the wait. Cheers.
